Hatcher Outreach
If you are interested in becoming a Hatcher, here are some things you need to know!
Who is a Hatcher? What is a Hatcher?
A Hatcher is someone who participates in the Hatching process of a Commons. Anyone may become a Hatcher as long as they become a member of the Trusted Seed.
Why should I become a Hatcher?
The reason you should become a Hatcher is because you care deeply about advancing the field of token engineering. Whether you are a seasoned cryptographer, a student interested in the field of token engineering, or simply someone looking to apply new community technologies to your context -- the hatching of the Token Engineering Commons is the first step to bringing informed decision-making and safer standards and practices to next-generation token economies.
We are building the future of Token Engineering. 📝
What are the implications of becoming a Hatcher?
By becoming a Hatcher you will be part of the initial community that provides the seed round funding to initialize the Commons, and you will vote on the parameters of the Commons, most notably the Augmented Bonding Curve and Conviction Voting Parameters.
What is required of me to participate in the Hatching process?
The only requirements for you to participate in the Hatching process is to hold Commons Stack Tokens (CSTK). In order to acquire CSTK, you must apply to the CSSA Trusted Seed. If you already have CSTK tokens, we encourage you to take part in the Hatching process.
How big will the Hatcher Group be?
This is unknown at the moment. As a part of the Hatcher Outreach campaign, we are attempting to get as many mission aligned token engineers to participate within the Hatching process.
How many people do you want to join the Hatcher Group?
Only those in the Trusted Seed are eligible to become a Hatcher and there are currently about 200 CSTK Token holders. We hope that all of the CSTK holders will participate, and we are always looking for more members to join.
As a part of our Hatcher Outreach campaign we are soliciting soft-commits at the moment.
Why do you need a Soft Commit now?
By providing us with a soft commit, you will be informing the Token Engineering community on what value to assign the Minimum Hatch Raise parameter. This parameter establishes a minimum amount of funding in order to proceed with the Hatching process.
How do you prevent speculators from participating in the Hatching Process?
The Trusted Seed is curated by Commons Stack. In order to participate in the Hatch, you will need to apply to the Trusted Seed and become a member of the Swiss Association.
By doing this, we ensure that everyone participating in the Hatch is aligned with the values of the Token Engineering Commons; those who care about advancing the field of Token Engineering and are deeply invested in the projects they are dedicated to funding.
As an additional precaution, the amount of CSTK a member holds during the initialization of the Hatching process sets the boundary to how much funding a single member can co-vest into the Hatch Raise by limiting contributions to no more than 10% of the amount raised, thereby limiting excess influence over Hatching decisions.
